Collection of Ming Fay
Ming Fay is a sculptor whose work includes botanical elements to explore the relationship between humans and nature. Often, his sculptures take form as hybrid, oversized plants and seeds, such as Anise. Traditionally, the eight-pod star anise seed is a key ingredient in Chinese medicine and cooking. Anise reflects Fay’s knowledge – and marriage - of Eastern and Western mythology and horticulture. In turn, sculptures like Anise come to reflect new meanings and understandings.
