Prior, in 1942, Noguchi voluntarily entered “internment” at the Poston War Relocation Center, a concentration camp in Arizona, joining Japanese citizens and American citizens of Japanese heritage living in the Western United States forcibly incarcerated during World War II, as authorized by Executive Order 9066.
