Bernadette Corporation is a New York-based artist collective known for its subversive approach to art, fashion, cinema, and cultural production. Blurring the destinction between art, commerce, and forms of activism, their work challenges ideas of authorship and identity. Starting as party organizers at Peter Gatien’s Club USA and then evolving into an underground fashion label, the group created five women's prêt-a-porter collections and four runway shows between 1995 and 1998 presented in downtown clubs and venues. The evolving collective output includes writing, film, publications (Made in USA), and conceptual projects that critique capitalism and consumer culture while appropriating its spectacle and circulation. Members have included Bernadette Van-Huy, Sonny Pak, Thuy Pham, John Kelsey, Jim Fletcher, Antek Walczak, among others.
