Mo Bahc (박철호, also known as Yiso Bahc) was an artist, writer, organizer, and teacher, widely considered one of the pioneering artists in Korea and its international diaspora. His painting People + Army = People’s Army, first exhibited in China: June 4th at New York’s Asian American Arts Centre in 1989, marks the state violence against civilians at Tiananmen Square the same year. In 1985, Bahc co-founded Minor Injury, a vibrant and enigmatic gallery that operated for a decade in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, offering an alternative space for artists to address the minoritarian framework and racialized milieu of the arts in the United States.
