This artwork is a collage of photographs. The artist captured sunset from the same location for several days and put them together. In this artwork, viewers can see the changing in shapes, colors, and tunes of the sky and clouds, while the buildings almost stay the same over time. Natural elements are in contrast with artificial constructions in terms of the changed and unchanged. This work is created in relation with the NYU Read Klara and the Sun, in which the artificial intelligent robot Klara sees the sun as a divine force. In many religions, people also connected the sun with sacred power and worshiped as the god of sun. Therefore, this work investigates the fascination of the sun that not only in relationship with Klara and the Sun, but also as a new chapter on the topic of Human and the Sun under modern context.

Bingyi Zhang studies studio art at Steinhardt. She works with photography, painting, installation, and sculptures. Her works explore the relationship between human and nature, feelings, self-consciousness, and identities. She believes art is not only a way to capture the beauty but also a pathway to escape the existing boundary and explore the beyond. In this artwork, she reflects the topic of environmental sustainability and human and nature. She captures the sunset from a same location for several days. In the photographs, we can not only see the changed sunlight and clouds, but also see the unchanged city view in contrast.
