Andrei Barrett (he/him)

Andrei Barrett is an interdisciplinary artist based in New York, NY, and Portland, OR. He is currently pursuing his BFA in Studio Art. His works are interested in the intimacies of queer bodies, and collective and personal memory.

Artist Statement

Through interdisciplinary methods of artmaking, my practice explores the intimacies and vulnerability of queer bodies. In my work, my figures are sensitive and quiet. Bodies are often featured by themselves and/or decontextualized. These forms are then juxtaposed with a red and blue palette. This invites a particular conflict and polarization, complicating the figures. With this silent loudness, I hope to discover truths about the queer experience.
