Duyi Han
Duyi Han is a Shanghai-based artist working across sculpture and furniture design. Trained as an architect, Han frames his work as a form of “neuroaesthetic prescription,” blending visual experimentation with conceptual inquiry into human emotion, memory, and societal norms. His interdisciplinary approach draws upon Eastern philosophy, pharmaceutical culture, and sensorial experience to probe the psychological and symbolic dimensions of design forms.
In his Vitamin B12 Omega 3 Chair, Han translates contemporary health discourse into a sculptural language, producing a seating object that functions as metaphor and material form. The work explores how furniture might participate in emotional and cognitive well-being, echoing his broader interest in design as a therapeutic tool. The chair is entirely silk-covered and hand-embroidered, depicting molecular structures of vitamin B12 and omega-3.
