En casa (At Home)
¡Hogar, dulce hogar! Home, sweet home! Now that we’ve explored places around the city, the campus, and our neighborhoods, it’s time to turn inward and focus on our personal spaces–wherever you call home. Note on some vocabulary words: The English word "carpet" refers to a floor covering, which translates to alfombra in Spanish, while carpeta in Spanish means a "folder" or "binder" in English. Despite their similar spelling, they have completely different meanings, making them a common source of confusion for Spanish learners.
Also note that Spanish has different words for “sink” that are not interchangeable: el lavamanos or el lavabo refers to the sink in the bathroom, whereas el fregadero or la pila refers to the sink in the kitchen.
