Margaret Pearse was a family friend of Josephine Patricia Smith, and the mother of Padraic Pearse. One copy of this photograph is signed. The other is inscribed with the following message: "To The Smith Family With fond rememberance of My Visit to New York June 16th 1924 Aldene N.Y. Margaret Pearse"
