Jan Matis Jurgensen

Jan Matis Jurgensen was born in 2003 in Brussels, Belgium. Growing up in a Nicaraguan-German family, he developed a particular interest for questions about the interrelations of culture and space. In July 2025, after his exchange semester at NYU, he will receive the Bachelor’s degree in geography and urban planning from the University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne. His photographic practice and exploration of contemporary urban dynamics nourish one another.
