Futility of Infinity (2020)

Jeff Elliott

10 feet x 2 feet'

Collage, Acrylic paint, Marker on Canvas

This current work is part of a series called Banners. They all measure 10 feet by 2 feet, the size of most street banners. This was the first in the series.  Memories, influencers before they were influencers, films and patterns make up most of this work. A stream of visual consciousness on canvas for your viewing pleasure.

Alt-Text:

Patterns of a famous designer's brand and images from the film 2001 A Space Odyssey and a still from the Road Runner cartoon. Abstract flowers turn into collaged planets which turn into General Custards stomping grounds and Diane Arbus’s creepy twins show up.

Jeff Elliott a graduate student at NYU’s Art Therapy Program.  He works at the Metropolitan Museum of Art as a technician in the Medieval Department. When he was seven years old, he realized he could draw, when he drew Scooby-Doo just from looking at a book cover of him. His second grade teacher, Mrs. Krause used him as an example about talent and that we all have a talent we just have to find it.
