ATLAL : The Journal of Saudi Arabian Archaeology

The Journal of Arabian Archeology was first published by the Department of Antiquities and Museums of the Ministry of Education of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1977. It published articles on Saudi Arabian archeology sponsored and directed by the Department. Substantively, the published articles discussed the results from archeological surveys, epigraphical studies, rock art descriptions, pottery analyses, soil testing, and excavations. Additionally, the Journal published findings from the Comprehensive Archeological Survey of the Kingdom's surface archeological remains, floral/faunal data, geomorphological features, and ancient climactic conditions. The Journal also devoted, albeit marginally, some room for the development of museums and other Departmental cultural activities throughout the years.
