Here are some prompts to help you practice your writing skills. You can make a copy of this Google Doc and work on it at your leisure. Remember to use the vocabulary and grammar used in the chapter, without any outside help!
Prompt 1: You just had a fun weekend and are writing to a friend to tell them about it. Describe a few of the things you did, especially your favorite hobby or a sport you practiced. Use regular verbs in the preterite to explain what you did and when. Mention who you were with, where you went, and how you felt. Ask your friend what they did last weekend and if they also enjoy that activity or prefer a different hobby.
Prompt 2: Imagine you took a short trip last month. Write a note to your travel buddy about the experience. Describe where you went, how you got there (train, car, plane, etc.), and what you did. Use regular verbs in the preterite to talk about your favorite moment. Mention what you packed or saw using demonstrative adjectives (e.g., este tren, aquella ciudad). Ask your friend if they have been to that place and how they usually like to travel.
Prompt 3: You are texting a friend to tell them about the hotel where you are staying during a trip. Describe your room, the view, and one or two services the hotel offers (like breakfast, Wi-Fi, or a gym). Use demonstratives (e.g., esta habitación, aquella piscina) to describe what you see. Mention how and when you made the reservation. Ask your friend what they look for in a hotel when they travel.
Prompt 4: You are planning your dream vacation and writing to a family member about it. Say where you want to go, how you want to get there, and what fun activities you hope to do (like sightseeing, hiking, or visiting museums). Use demonstratives to describe places or activities (e.g., estos museos, aquellas montañas). Mention if you are traveling alone or with someone. Ask your relative what their ideal vacation looks like and if they like to travel.
