Rolling Veggies on the Floor

For some time, perhaps several months in a row, Ivan was really into playing this one video-game, the Cook , where the player acts as a chef – chopping, frying, seasoning various dishes based on the customer’s order. Ivan liked playing it his way, so that the veggies would fly to the floor when he was cutting them, rather than staying on the cutting board. In this video (Nov 23, 2020), Ivan decided to share this (or some version of this) story with his teacher occasioned by the fact that they were just spelling a word "CУП" which ends with "П" - the first letter of the word "ПОЛ" ("Floor" in eng.). Ivan invited his mother (who was present in the room) to be a co-narrator of this story. The teacher then remembers that they played a Halloween version of that game with Ivan too.

In this case, both Anastasia and Ivan’s teacher act as keepers of shared experiences, of things-and-events-shared-in-common, which serve as a basis for practices of understanding of Ivan’s actions.
