Sam on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

Who am I before and who am I after? What does it mean for me to travel through the entire month of May and discover parts of my queerness and parts of my racial and ethnic identity interwoven with the landscape of the larger LIS field?
This Manifold piece tries to document, after the fact, reflections of my experience spending five Fridays being given the space, time, and resources to consider ‘work’ beyond my tasks. To think about my thoughts and feelings, my observations and lessons learned, all from twenty total hours of time I shared with strangers turned friends and colleagues. I want to document this flash point in my life as exploration turned scholarship, turning a framework of information literacy inwards, so that I, too, can better understand who I am, all while making sure that it doesn’t get lost only in the wind.
Accompanying my Manifold piece are simplistic attempts at drawing my experiences beyond the comfort of writing words, aiming to try and push myself out of my existing boundaries and prior knowledge.
